Prada and the Giant Sloth made it all the way to Ben Philips, who thought it was too cheery for Pseudopod.

I can’t say he’s wrong, it is an almost manically cheerful story, even if it does have a few dismemberments and decapitations.

One day, Pseudopod. One day.

I feel a whole lot better about the economy knowing this.

Trauma cat

If you read this, there’s a chance that you are familiar with my cat. If not, here’s Gimpy, aka Gimps, aka The Monster, aka Bastard:

No commentary needed, amirite?

Anyway, he’s all traumatised because we got a visit from the window cleaners today. I think that having something AT THE WINDOW (my parents live in a third floor flat, so Gimpy’s world is fairly limited) is a horror verging on the Lovecraftian for my poor, stupid cat.

Instead of Lurker at the Threshold, we have Cleaner at the Sill. Still, I’ll expect he’ll stop diving for cover at the slightest noise before I head back up to Leiden.

Cattle is back, but not for long. It’s now on it’s way to Apex Digest.

It’s so weird subbing to science fiction markets.

New market jitters

After sending the recent short story to Beta 1 (hi Matthew), I’ve decided to give Clarkesworld a shot. There’s no way in hell it’s going to get accepted, because it’s Clarkesworld, but hey. It’s worth a shot. They get back to you in two weeks, and all. So by the time I get my rejection slip, Beta 2 (sup Gren) will have gotten back to me and the HR antho I was eyeing will be open.

Maybe they’ll at least give me a personal rejection slip, because the market’s my namesake?

Hey, I can always dream.
